Bored with scanning the Internet for election morsels, I decided to head out to the Stone Robinson precinct in Albemarle County to conduct some completely unscientific exit polling in order to get a sense for who is voting, and who they’re voting for.
We may have to wait until the dust settles, but for all intents and purposes, it seems as if Tom Perriello has defeated Virgil Goode for the Fifth District congressional seat.
Tom Perriello has come a long way, literally and figuratively, in the past two and a half months. While he’s racked up the mileage traveling the expansive Fifth Congressional District in his bid to unseat six-term incumbent Virgil Goode, he has also closed a 34 point gap in mid-August to a mere three points, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted this weekend with a margin of sampling error of 4 points.
