Plans for a new parking garage at UVA’s Scott Stadium have been pushed back at least a year.
On November 16, UVA issued a "request for letters of interest and statements of qualifications" to select firms to design and build the garage. The 400-to-700 space garage’s location hadn’t been finalized, but it was to be "southwest" of the existing stadium garage.
Carol Wood, UVA spokesperson, says by e-mail that the Virginia Athletic Foundation Board of Directors "decided to request a one-year delay with respect to further discussion about moving forward with the parking deck proposal at Scott Stadium."
The Virginia Athletic Foundation will fund the project jointly with the University.
