ARTS Pick: Of Mice and Men

John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men takes the stage at London’s National Theatre as part of its HD broadcast series. The play is a powerful and raw depiction of struggles during the Great Depression and the heart-wrenching bonds of friendship. James Franco and Chris O’Dowd step out of their comedic comfort zones to play two friends searching for a better life in a harshly depicted rural America. The production began with a Broadway run and was nominated for two Tonys including a leading actor nod for O’Dowd.

Sunday 12/21. $10.50-14.50, 7pm. The Paramount Theater, 215 E. Main St., Downtown Mall. 979-1333.
