Charlottesville Police are investigating a forcible fondling of a UVA student that occurred around 3am Sunday near the 1100 block of Wertland Street on the University Corner.
According to the safety announcement UVA Police Chief Michael Gibson sent out yesterday, the female student was walking when a white male approached her from behind, lifted up her skirt and fondled her.
The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years old and wearing dark pants and a black North Face jacket.
Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 434-977-4000 or the Charlottesville Police at 434-970-3280.
This incident is the latest in a series of attacks on UVA students. UVA Police is offering a personal safety seminar, which lasts between one to three hours, and the popular Rape Aggression Defense class (RAD), a 12-hour course designed to alert those enrolled to unsafe scenarios and teach them ways to prevent violence.
