UVA alumna Tina Fey was a big winner last night at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC.
Fey, who graduated from UVA with a B.A. in Drama in 1992, won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series with "30 Rock," won as executive producer for the Outstading Comedy Series with "30 Rock," and won again for Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series with "30 Rock."
Fey was also nominated as Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program as host and performer with "Saturday Night Live," but lost to Don Rickles in "Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project."
In 1999, UVA alumna Tina Fey became the first female "Saturday Night Live" head writer. In 2001 Fey won a Writers Guild of America Award. Now she has a few Emmys for the trophy case, too.
