What are you working on these days?
We’re trying to record over the next month or two. What that’ll look like at first is probably a few demos, before we start putting a lot of time and money into it. We’re really starting from scratch, which is exciting, because there are so many opportunities that come with being a new band.

What were you doing just before we called?
I’m in Boston right now on vacation. That’s where I’m from, so I came up here for the week. First trip up in a while, so it’s kind of a nice refresher week.
Do you have a day job?
I wait tables at The Local in Belmont. Chris Campanelli, our guitarist, works there too.
Favorite tool of the trade?
These days? I just bought my first legitimate acoustic guitar. It’s a Martin D-15. You know, I don’t know much about instruments, but this one sounds pretty nice.
Locally, who would you like to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?
Wow. Let me just run through this list out loud… Paul Curreri, Devon Sproule, Birdlips, DBB Plays Cups, Adam Smith, um… I want to choose carefully, because the well is deep in Charlottesville.
Plans to perform locally soon?
We don’t have any shows scheduled right now because we’re trying to invest more time in recording. We’ve also been playing our fair share in Charlottesville this summer, so we want to give the town a break. I think our next show will probably be in September.
Favorite snack while you’re working?
Mmmm. Usually a golden delicious apple. Maybe just apples in general.
What songs are you playing on your iPod?
I don’t even have an iPod. (Laughs) You’re lucky I have a cell-phone. What am I listening to right now? Stuart Murdoch’s CD, God Help The Girl. He’s in Belle & Sebastian… I’m listening to classical music, like Beethoven. Also, Wilco (The Album).
If you could only bring a single article of clothing with you on tour for a month, it would be…
Probably my brown shoes. I don’t know what kind they are. (Laughs) They’re just brown leather shoes. They have laces. I guess they sort of look like a businessman’s shoes—light brown leather, but you could say they help me be “me.” They’re actually kind of faded, pretty old and beat up. They’re like a security blanket.
Guilty pleasure?
I love watching old, old interviews on You Tube. Like Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, classic interviews on YouTube.
