Virginia travels to play Boston College (13-5) Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Hoos are coming off two tough losses to North Carolina and top-ranked Duke in their last two games.
Virginia (10-7) and Boston College have each won four games in the series since BC joined the ACC.
The Wahoos have led at the half in each of their three early season ACC (1-2) games, and the Hoos also have gotten out to double-digit leads in all three of those games.
Under Tony Bennett, Virginia is 16-1 when the Hoos score at least seventy points. During the same time period, Bennett’s Hoos are 9-22 when they do make it to the seventy point threshold.
BC is led by junior guard Reggie Jackson (19.6 ppg), but they have four players averaging in double figures.
Boston College’s coach is a new one to the ACC in Steve Donahue. Anyone remember Donahue’s Cornell team and their awesome run in the NCAA Tournament last season?
Prediction? Hoos 64 Eagles 77. Go Hoos! Virginia next plays Saturday January 22 at the JPJ.
